๐ How to Play
An AI Dungeon Master runs the game โ speaks in your Discord call, paints the world, and runs real D&D 5e. Here's everything you need, from invite to initiative.
1Get in
Click the invite link your game master sent you and Sign in with Discord. That one link unlocks your account and seats you at their campaign. No link? Ask them for one โ the table is invite-only.
2Create your hero
The invite drops you straight into character creation: pick a race, class, and background, assign your abilities, choose skills. Real 5e rules โ the sheet does all the math. A painted portrait of your character appears on its own a minute later.
Then open your character page and hit โ๏ธ Write your story. This matters more than anything else you do: the DM reads your backstory โ it will name the people you left behind, test your bonds, and tempt your flaws. Playing your personality earns โจ Inspiration (advantage on a roll when you need it).
3Start the game (host)
Pick an adventure from the library (or generate one from any idea) and hit Begin. Your campaign page shows a ๐ฎ game code. In any Discord text channel:
/start code:your-game-codeThat connects the channel and the Dungeon Master opens the session โ if you're sitting in a voice channel when you type it, the DM joins the call and speaks.
4Talking to the DM
- In voice: the DM only listens when it calls on your character by name โ "Nox, what do you do?" means the mic is yours: just answer out loud. Everything else in the call is private table chatter; the DM never hears it.
- In text: type anything in the connected Discord channel, any time.
- On the live table: use the "What do you do?" box at the bottom โ acts as your character, synced to Discord.
5Rolling dice
You roll your own dice. When the DM asks for a check, attack, or save:
- In Discord: type
/rollโ plain, no numbers. It already knows exactly what the DM asked you for, modifiers included. - On the live table: a golden ๐ฒ Roll button appears โ one tap.
The story continues automatically with your result. (You can always roll anything manually: /roll dice:2d6+3 or the dice tray.)
6The live table
Open your campaign โ โถ Enter the Live Table. Everyone sees the same board, live:
- ๐บ๏ธ The map โ a top-down view of wherever you are, with everyone's character pucks on it. Scroll to zoom, drag to pan, double-click to reset. Flip to ๐จ Scene in the corner for the painted artwork.
- Combat โ initiative order, HP bars, floating damage numbers, all automatic.
- The feed โ narration, everyone's rolls, and who's online at the table.
- Works great on a phone โ stage on top, controls below.
7Pausing & coming back
/saveSaves everything and writes that session up as a chapter on your campaign page (๐ The Chronicle). When you return:
/resume code:your-game-codeThe DM rejoins voice and opens with a spoken "Previously, onโฆ" recap, then picks up exactly where you left off โ HP, gold, loot, XP, spell slots, and every promise you made.
