The Hook

The party are students at the Kessho Institute of Barrier Sorcery when a routine curse-containment call at the condemned Nakaba Dormitory goes wrong: a special-grade curse born from decades of children's fear has grown fat enough to bite through steel doors. Trapped inside is first-year Emi Tsurugi and, in the dormitory's sealed basement shrine, a lead reliquary box that was never supposed to be opened. It opens. Inside is a single mummified finger, radiating cursed energy like a struck bell. There is exactly one way to generate enough power in the next six seconds to save Emi's life. It involves swallowing the finger. Someone at the table is about to do that.
